What Cothel Means...

That Feeling You Get...

Cothel is a Liverpool based project and a concept that which little is understood. The leading theory is that Cothel is the result of a message from a higher dimension that got lost in translation. The concept of which was so hard to understand, all that could be written down was what an incoherent mess, which became the titles of their debut album "That Feeling You Get..."

“These guys are sick! Love their tunes, and wanna hear more releases! I'm definitely gonna have them back on my

stage” - Cam Cole, New Age Collective

Cothel is about flowing between heavy and chill vibes, blending music to feel and to listen to, with music that make you want to move and go crazy

When You're Insanely High...

"Powerful guitars, rhythmic drumming with mind bending keytaring, beautiful vocals; an eclectic mix of headbangers that brought a great deal of magic into the room with them" - Kitty Aurora

"Reflecting upon Cothel’s driving drum rhythms, electric guitar solo and hair raising vocals, it’s no wonder that the audience were chanting “one more tune” when the band finished. What a fitting end to a fantastic set." - Jaz's Journal

And You Know...

"I’ll stick my neck out right now and predict you’ll hear a lot more of Cothel.

With band members from (all around the world) there’s a lot of diverse influences being brought to bear in their music, and it seems to be working a treat." - Loud Horizons

Current Line Up

Aaron Stafford

Aaron is the main author behind the lyrics, melodies, chords, and even the meaning of Cothel. Aaron loves psychedelia as he has a passion for the weird, the strange, and anything out of the ordinary. He comes from Huntington Beach, California but moved to Liverpool in 2018. Soon after, he coined the term Cothel, and turned it into a full fledged band.

It all started as a collaboration between Rob King's production and Aaron’s songwriting, but many members were quickly added all of them helping create what Cothel is today

Instrument: Guitar, Vocals, Keyboard

Inspirations:  King Gizzard, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Battlesnake, The Lazy Eyes, Pink Floyd, Tame Impala

Rob King

Rob King from Surrey has been working with Cothel from the very beginning, and was even witness to the creation of Cothel in the first place. Rob’s original role was being Cothel’s lead producer, and he still plays that role, but now has joined the line up of the live band, fitting into the role of synthesist. Rob specializes in the creation of weird and strange noises.

Rob soon met Emiliano, and collaborating with him production wise was part of what lead him to be added to the project

Instrument: Synth

Inspirations: Rick Wright, Tame Impala, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, King Gizzard, The War on Drugs

Emiliano Del Toro

Emiliano all the way from Mexico City, started learning guitar at the young age of 7 years old, since then he has picked other instruments as well, including bass and drums. He came to Liverpool to hones his skills as a producer and as a musician.

Emiliano is the lead guitarist present on most of the first album, and he is a massive part of the production and the guitar arrangement throughout the first album

Her signature mix of beautiful harmony along with hair raising powerful scream has help shape the sound of "That Feeling You Get..." not to mention the unreleased track "Liquify Your Mind"

Instrument:  Vocals

Inspirations:  Lady Gaga, Bauhaus, Pierce The Veil, Deftones, Sonic Youth

Luke Dolphin

After the addition of a 2nd guitarist, it was clear what the next plan of action was, 3 guitarists. That was fun for a while but with Emiliano's transition to Drums, Luke is now the lead guitarist for Cothel! Originally he was added to help replicate the intricate guitar parts on the first album in a live setting.

Luke the “Dudey Wudey” Dolphin from Kenilworth has quickly grown into a member of his own accord, adding his own strange parts to the music where needed, Luke and his pedal board board work together to make a symphony of psychedelic noise that helps fill out the music.

He will be featured on only one song from our upcoming album, However he will be featured heavily on our EP planed for after.
