What Cothel Means...

Cothel is Liverpool’s premier psychedelic wizard rock experience, both a band and a concept beyond anyone's comprehension. 

We don’t know exactly where Cothel came from but what we do know is that it existed far before we had a word to define it.  Cothel is a feeling, you’ve probably felt it before without even realising. 

It’s “that feeling you get when you both understand exactly what the other knows but one of you refuses to accept it”   

One faithful day, the members of this very band were attempting to understand this rare form of ancient magic, when they discovered a connection to a higher plane of existence.  

 The Wizard is the result of the frontman seeing his true potential, and becoming one with his higher self. He saw that the world was full of untapped magical potential, and he made it his goal to spread the magic of Cothel to the world!   

You see you, yes you, reading this right now, are the most powerful and magical being that has ever been, only you refuse to accept it. 

Cothel was defined in 2018 and their first single came out in 2021. Their debut album "That Feeling You Get..." came out in 2025 and has only scratched the surface of the eclectic nature of the band

The band has always prided itself on playing a diverse range of genres  from psych rock jams, to soft jazzy psychedelia, and even doom metal. They have opened for notable acts such as Battlesnake, and Cam Cole. They have even played at Cam Cole's own festival Freaks in a Field for three years in a row.
